Crochet Charlie Brown Baby Sweater

This was a custom order and it came out so cute! I haven’t seen any other crochet Charlie Brown pull overs or sweaters so I decided to share this one before Halloween gets around. The sweater is made up of 8 parts. The black stripe, the bottom of the stripe, the top of the stripe, the back, the front, the shoulder, the collar, and the sleeves. Materials

1 skien of Red Hart in both black and saffron 

An H crochet hook

Scissors

Darning Needle


Abbreviations

Sc - single crochet 

Dc - double crochet

Ch - chain

Slst - slip stitch

Fpdc - front post double crochet 

Bpdc - back post double crochet

Black stripe

Ch 11 + 2 (chain 102) 

Row 1 - 2 sc in second chain from hook, sc in the next 4 chains, *skip 2 chains, sc into the next 4 chains, 3 sc into the next chain, sc into the next 4 stitches* repeat across (1 sc into the last increase instead of 3), join in round


Rounds 2-5 - *3 sc in first stitch, sc into the next 4 stitches, skip two stitches, sc into the next 4 stitches*, join to first stitch, ch 1


Bottom of stripe

In yellow

Round 1 - slst into first stitch, *sc into next three stitches, skip 2 stitches, sc into next three stitches, slst into next stitch* repeat around, join to slst, ch 1


Round 2 - (now you are at the top of the peak and you should have 3 sc, skip two, and 3 sc).


*skip a sc, sc into the next two stitches, slst into the next stitch two stitches* 


Round 3-5 - sc into each stitch around, join ch 1 (66 sc)


Round 6 - sc into each stitch around, join, ch 2 (66 sc)


Round 7 - dc into each stitch around, join, ch 2 (66 dc)


Round 8 - *fpdc, bpdc*, repeat around, join, ch 1 fasten off


Top of stripe

In yellow


Round 1 - slst into first stitch, *sc into next three stitches, skip 2 stitches, sc into next three stitches, slst into next stitch* repeat around, join to slst, ch 1


Round 2 - (now you are at the top of the peak and you should have 3 sc, skip two, and 3 sc).


*skip a sc, sc into the next two stitches, slst into the next stitch two stitches* 


Rounds 3-5 - sc into each stitch around, join ch 1 (66 sc)


(The back)

Rows 6-18 - sc in the next 33 stitches, ch 1, turn


Row 19 - sc in the next 33 stitches, ch 1 fasten off


(The front)

Rows 6-11 - sc in the next 33 stitches, ch 1, turn


(The shoulder) x 2

Rows 12-18 - sc in the next 10 stitches, ch 1, turn


Row 19 - sc in the next 10 stitches, ch 1, turn inside out, slip stitch to back, ch 1, fasten off


The Collar

In yellow

Round 1 - Dc in each stitch around, place two dc in the corners, make sure it’s an even number, join, ch 2


Round 2 - *fpdc, bpdc*, repeat around, join, ch 1, turn


Sleeves 

In yellow

Decrease at random, don’t decrease in same area. Always join and ch 1 after each round

Crochet Reversible Halloween Circle Skirt

I thought this was such a cute idea! But I didn’t want to wear the spiders year round so I made it both reversible and the spiders removable. Seems like a lot I know. But if I wanted it more textured with the seams showing I wanted that option without the spiders! If you don’t want it reversible it would be super easy to add in a zipper. All you would have to do is before you single crochet the last panels together, you would have to sew the zipper to both sides and single crochet the rest of the way up from the bottom.
